About PJs

As founders of the smoothie market in the UK in 1994, the team here at PJs can claim to be the most innovative and clever smoothie makers in the market today.

Oh, and they're brilliantly healthy because each 250ml bottle gives a mighty two of your recommended five portions because we blend whole crushed fruit and fruit juice.

Perky Joy 2007

New packaging! New flavours!

A change is as good as a holiday. So we've taken a spring break and had a little 'work' done. The best things about PJ Smoothies have remained, with all our delicious tasting pure fruit smoothies and popular flavours in their new look packaging. But we've also introduced some new friends

Look Sharp: a blend of zingy kiwifruit, limes, ginkgo and apples combine to sharpen your senses.

Rainforest Açai: we've taken Açai from the Amazon and blended it with red grapes and mangoes for a taste adventure.

Black & Blue: blackcurrants and blueberries combine to deliver a powerful antioxidant punch.

Want Fruit? Drink Fruit 2005

PJ Smoothies has remained true to its founding principles over the years with a positive, down-to-earth and non-preachy approach to life, believing that life should be fun and colourful, and that our delicious smoothies should be available to everyone, reflected fully in our packaging, flavours and advertising.

Done Being Bad? 2002

Innovation has been a continual hallmark of the PJ Smoothie business right from start-up, we've had packaging evolutions, introduction of delicious new flavours such as the first super smoothies range with functional benefits, brand new products such as Froooties, the first kids smoothie on the market launched in 2003, and indeed the first smoothie brand to feature on TV with the sponsorship of "Survivor" in 2002 and the "Done being bad?" campaign in 2003.

The first UK smoothie 1994

PJs were first born when our founder, Harry Cragoe, came across the delicious fruit-based drinks in California.

On returning to the UK, Harry couldn't find his new found fruit-love anywhere so decided with the support of a friend, Patrick Folkes, to put their entrepreneurial efforts into the start-up of the UK smoothie market with the launch of the Pete & Johnny brand in October 1994.
